But what fun. I had such a house built in our basement years ago, designed to be easily dismantled for moving outdoors. Best Xmas present the kids ever had, I think. I'm somewhat surprised by the choice of roof tiles, not from an aesthetic point of view, but the weight of them. And yes indeed, somebody's eyes must be rolling in their grave, knowing this sort of thing goes on in the modern world.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7652835323489468820.post-83149413147243838132015-04-13T13:31:30.374-07:002015-04-13T13:31:30.374-07:00Jean, I'm waiting for the roofer now, to discu...Jean, I'm waiting for the roofer now, to discuss attaching 150 year old tiles in a way that will not "shed" when the house is moved:) English Riderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01712384532126551307noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7652835323489468820.post-67560153667938315622015-04-12T16:14:59.940-07:002015-04-12T16:14:59.940-07:00Make sure you take lots of pictures when the house...Make sure you take lots of pictures when the house is done. I looks wonderful now.

We've been overwatered here in NJ this winter. I have been aching for you guys out there and keep wishing there were a way to send you some of our extra. The forecasts suggested there might be a change in the weather pattern bringing you some relief. I certainly hope so.
Jeanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10029423500476995817noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7652835323489468820.post-63786359330245523232015-04-12T07:47:14.231-07:002015-04-12T07:47:14.231-07:00S&S, There were seven years of drought, when w...S&S, There were seven years of drought, when we first moved to California from France. We thought it was normal warm, dry California. We were annoyed when the rainy years came. Anyone who suggests more reservoirs or less building expansion is lost in the outcry. With all the brain power around here, solutions are out there but they don't pay big bucks or promise IPO's so no one is on the job.
English Riderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01712384532126551307noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7652835323489468820.post-31107934823051376992015-04-12T02:51:47.440-07:002015-04-12T02:51:47.440-07:00I need a hideaway just like this !
