Camouflage and Christmas Lights

I hope that the troops who are shipping out, as part of "The Great Surge", and those who have already been away from home too long will all have a safe Christmas. That said, I also hope that tearing them away from their families at just this moment is truly a part of necessary strategy and not some hard-ass commander's version of "Let's show them who's in charge".
Santa's watching. He knows what's in your heart.

  1. To quote your dear countryman:

    Happy Christmas
    written by John Lennon

    So this is Xmas
    And what have you done
    Another year over
And a new one just begun

    And so this is Xmas
    I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
    The old and the young

    A very Merry Xmas
    And a happy New Year
    Let's hope it's a good one
    Without any fear

    And so this is Xmas
    For weak and for strong
For rich and the poor ones
    The world is so wrong

    And so happy Xmas
    For black and for white
    For yellow and red ones
    Let's stop all the fight

    A very Merry Xmas
    And a happy New Year
    Let's hope it's a good one
    Without any fear

    And so this is Xmas
    And what have we done
    Another year over
    A new one just begun

    And so happy Xmas
    We hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
    The old and the young

    A very Merry Xmas
    And a happy New Year
    Let's hope it's a good one
    Without any fear

    War is over,
    if you want it
    War is over now

    Happy Xmas

I voted for Barak Obama for peace,
    not for more war.
    I am beyond disappointed.

  2. Not to worry, this is normal "rotation" time.

Think of all those that will now be home for Christmas, and not just in their dreams.

That has always been the point of Dec/Jan rotation.. also both times match up to school breaks.

  3. Pliers, Thanks for the song. Peace will not arrive all by its self. There is work to do yet.

@eloh, that's reassuring to hear. I thought because of The Surge that everyone would be required to stay.

  4. Your prayers to God's ears, please. I too hope it is the right thing to do. *sigh*
