When grown-ups get married

Going to a wedding is usually more of an obligation than a pleasure. These grown-up friends of ours were anything but boring. (Please note clown nose).

The ring bearer was very cute. His handler was under instructions to prevent him cocking his leg on The Dress.

The palm tree was decorated by a nesting Egret colony and a couple of well dressed party crashers snuck in.

Can you guess which one of the above is the Genuine French Chef?
Bride and groom donned blindfolds for competitive cake decorating. We suspect the groom of cheating. What do you think?

It wasn't all goofing around. There were some teary eyes when the bride arrived on her Uncle's arm to the sound of Celtic Thunder - A Bird Without Wings.

  1. Aww, that sounds like a great wedding. Love the clown nose and the ring bearer!!

  2. Well, I'll swan.

That does indeed look like D & P, clown nose notwithstanding.

They are fortunate that they were not forced to get any closer to the grub than decorating pre-made cakes!

I hope you had a great time! I would love to have been there. And it looks like the bride and groom were both very happy!

  3. It looks like it was a great day!

  4. What a fun wedding it must have been! I agree about the groom's cheating on the cake...but better then than...well get my drift.

  5. Jean, of course it wasn't until long after I wrote that, that I thought about other kinds of cheating.

Steve, I have rarely been so pleasantly surprised.

Ms. P. It was D & P. As the invitation said "Finally" tying the knot.

TechnoBabe, and the lop-eared bunnies hopping around under the tables.

  6. Like those well dressed party crashers ! If the french chef was worth his salt there would have been some fine goose paté served on toast there in no time...

  7. Eejit, They "Sabered" the champagne bottles too, with the priest kneeling to hold the bottles and the groom whacking away with a sword.

Owen, there was suckling pig and roast goat and Salmon Wellington. The geese earned a reprieve for the day.

  8. That's the kind of wedding I'd like to have. Just fun. You know the most interesting people, ER. (And damn, you eat well...)

  9. I used to say horses were my profession and people my hobby. Switch that around completely nowadays but that's O.K. (I suppose).
