Sparkles meets the Gang of Four

Sparkles was completely unperturbed yesterday when introduced to The Gang of Four. She immediately began playing with one kitten after another, with some time out to try their toys as well. The foster-siblings are very chubby, as they have grown up unhindered by the health issues that Sparkles has had to overcome. Compared to Sparkles, they lumber, rather than bounce around.
I stayed around for a while, although I didn't get any better photos than these. By the time I left Sparkles and the others were all sleeping in a pile.

  1. Aaaargh ! That was worse than leaving the eldest at playgroup for the first time ..... they all look huge !

  2. Aw-w-w-w-w. Ms. Feisty Sparkle will dominate the whole lot of them, despite the size difference. She has "cattitude!!"

Sorry to see her go, but delighted to see her so well adapted already. Sleeping in a kitten pile is exactly what she needs now.

  3. That's a terrific start you've given her. Sorry to see her go as well but pleased she has got new kitten friends to play with.

  4. S&S, Sparkles had progressed so far from her beginnings that I expected her to be the biggest. Obviously, I was way off.

Jean, "Cattitude" I like that. The foster family will allow me back to visit, which is very kind of them. I liked all the people and animals in that family. (Their own cats were megga-kitties too)

Argent, Sparkles has a designated New Mom waiting for her to complete kitten-camp. I pretty much know where she will be going. I feel good about the whole thing. No regrets.

  5. Great news all round! You've done an incredible job, and it's so lovely to hear that Sparkles already has a good new home to go to. Lovely to see pics of her playing with other kittens :)

    Well done you!

  6. Joanna, Thanks. I felt strongly that it was best for her to have the opportunity to be a kitten amongst kittens. There were dissenters.

  8. This reminds me of that tale of the two women who each claimed a child as their own. You know it, ER, I'm sure. You're a true mother.

  10. Congratulations on having pulled the runt from the jaws of death. She looks right at home with her cofoundlings!

Do you think that you could stop by my SIL's home in France and pick up the 40+ feral cats and their annual litters that she feeds daily? No? Bummer...

  11. Oh how sweet. Sparkles looks great playing with the other kittens. You really were a life saver.

  12. Steve, I have to say that it was the two little orange boys who were instinctively drawn to sniffing rather than playing.

Deborah, didn't Solomon threaten to cut the child in half?

Di, my blog has turned into animal rescue diary. I am not really that crazy cat lady, really, I'm not...

Ms. Pliers, trap, spay, release & repeat. As I recall the French are not keen on reproductive responsibility where their animals are concerned. All the dogs still have their dingly-danglies. Too Macho!

TechnoBabe, I can't wait to hear how she is doing. She is with a truly lovely human family.
