I couldn't resist sharing this. One of the blogs I follow is www.shilohhorserescue.blogspot.com
Jill Curtis continues the good work that she and husband Tony found to be as important and rewarding as any Hollywood honors. Who could disagree? (Florecita was born 6/6/11).
This baby had "health issues?" Hard to believe! I'm exhausted just watching her.

ReplyDeleteWish I had half that amount of energy!
ReplyDeleteWhat a little star. I notice she's been shaved so had some problems? Anyway, she certainly looks well now.
ReplyDeleteIf you follow the Shiloh link, there are more pictures and her "whole" life story, all two weeks of it. She almost died due to a bowel impaction at birth. Her breeder gave her up as she couldn't afford the vet care she needed. This mini foal is smaller than a Labrador dog.
ReplyDeleteAnd , like all toddlers , fascinated by pooh!
ReplyDeleteS&S, You're so right!
ReplyDeleteShiloh looks like a great rescue. The horses are in fab shape!
ReplyDeleteAs for Little Flower...what a Cutie pie. She goes from 0-100 in a split second. It's taking some serious dedication to save her and I have utmost respect for her caretakers. Here's hoping she has a bright future either as a Shiloh mascot or in a new home where she will be well loved.
Jean, They have over 100 horses at the moment, not to mention the odd donkey, pig and a few llamas. They seem to do a great job of training and finding homes for suitable candidates. Jill updates her blog often so we get to know everyone.
ReplyDeleteWow...what a beautiful creature...I fell in love with horses as a young girl. I guess I remain so. I hope this horse has a wonderful life.
ReplyDeleteYou're keeping well and happy I hope?
Great video. Darling horse. No wonder you follow that blog; the horse rescuers with heart.
ReplyDeletei must be tired - it took me a few seconds to work out the reference to a Curtis named Tony and Hollywood. D'oh!
ReplyDeleteJust one word to describe this - awww
e, doesn't this baby look like something drawn by the illustrators at Disney Studios? I'm well. Thanks for asking.
ReplyDeleteTechnoBabe, they save some that seem "un-savable", even if it's only to help them end their lives in peace and with dignity. Many of the blog posts are heavy-hearted goodbyes.
Pixie, I first heard of Shiloh when we saw Tony Curtis at a book signing a few years back. He had some bedazzled horse shoes that he was selling at the same time, as a fundraiser for the horse rescue. His wife, Jill, is carrying on now that he's gone.
I sent the link to my daughter, whose brother's giant Malamute she considers the cutest animal ever. But I'm not so sure she'll still think that after seeing Florecita.
ReplyDeleteWonderful work these good people do. There is hope for a world where people save horses.
At around 1:45 mama looks so tired. lol
ReplyDeleteI am glad baby is doing well now. :-)
Sooooo adorable!!! Can't believe how fast that little one's legs can move! Thanks for sharing... this was really incredibly adorably hysterical!
ReplyDeleteDeborah, Florecita does stand out from the crowd, doesn't she?
ReplyDeleteBirdie, as any mama knows, having the baby is nothing compared to how exhausting they can be once they arrive:)
Jenny, she is like a little cartoon horse. That much cute can't be real.
To have such energy. I remember when I ran just to run.
ReplyDeleteOMG! she is The Cutest Thing Ever!
