Jack Russell knows no embarrassment!

Whilst in England, recently, I encountered an endless supply of happy dogs. From Hyde Park in London to the beaches of Cornwall, there were four-footed personalities all over the place. This Jack Russell was standing sentinel on the stoop of "His" shop, watching other dogs go by, completely unperturbed by his cone of shame and assorted feather boas. It would be unusual to meet a human this well-adjusted!

  1. He has an inbuilt sense of superiority...being a Jack Russell.

My Alsatian slunk round wearing his...his image had suffered...

  4. Unfortunately, if you happen to be a "human this well-adjusted," you are often perceived as being a threat by those who wear their neuroses as a badge of pride.

  5. And what , may I ask , is wrong with this ensemble ? Of course , it's at its best with the tiara ...

  6. our first cat charlie got an ear infection and had to have a collar to stop him scratching - he didn't look as happy about it as this dog

  7. Fly, so much spirit in such a small package:)

Kerry, there were Jack Russells everywhere. They fit the horsey community and the yachting crowd.

Stephen, I thought after posting this that Jack might have been a Jill. What with the feather boas 'n all.

Martin, a little bitterness in your thoughts today.

S&S, it was late afternoon, too early for proper tiara etiquette.

Pixie, Cats do not deal well with restrictions. This dog seemed oblivious.

  10. Every Jack Russell I have know has had an ego twenty times his/her size. Great dogs, with that terrier self-assurance.

Then again, maybe I'd want the same temperament myself if my job in life was to tackle rats!! (and other such vermin....)

  14. Friko, sensitivity and Jack Russels are not synonymous. This one truly seemed oblivious.

  15. Not much stops a JRT from enjoying life. I should know.. I have one. We can learn a lot from them.

  16. Great picture! Then again everyone knows you can't possibly wear a cone on your head without the perfect accessories and feather boas fit the bill nicely I'd say.

  19. I'm enjoying the look on his face. He looks as if he could care less. Imagine if a human wore one of those!
