A Day at the Office

Although a work day, I could just as easily have titled this post "Escape to Paradise". This is the view from a new client's master bedroom window.
The Golden Gate Bridge on one side and a hazy silhouette of San Francisco, a slight turn of the head, on the other.
Admittedly, this four storey home has a lot of stairs, but they also have an elevator. The driveway is so steep that, by the addition of a few hand holds, it could easily be turned into a climbing wall. I had to enlist a troop of helpers from the construction site to carry in my heavy stone samples.
The design firm that brought me in to bring their fireplace inspirations to fruition, with a "before Christmas" completion deadline, uses code names for their clients, to protect their privacy.
This Sunday post is my preamble to knuckling down and drafting scale drawings and proposals, that I've promised them by tomorrow morning.
On the feral kitty front, here's the latest feline addition to the meal ticket. He's been showing up regularly. At first, I shooed him away, as an interloper, and he'd wait to clean up after Poppy and Mango. As you can see from his plump good looks, he now gets his own plate. He's got a ginger mask and tail, which makes him some variation of a Flame Point Siamese. I'm guessing he's a boy, as I think he's got a large head, indicative of a Tom Cat. Right or wrong, he's here to stay.

  1. That is one nice looking cat. And he doesn't appear to care who lives there. It is his home now.

    1. Birdie, quiet cul de sac, large front yard with trees, bushes, birds and squirrels, regular meals, what's not to like?

  2. The view is beautiful, that's for sure, but the driveway and stairs would kill it for me.

Lovely kitty. I have three strays here now too. Mama and the two kittens are settling in. Need to tame, catch and neuter, though.

Looks to me as if the cats are quite happy at your house, and clearly well fed. At least there, they don't have to worry about facing a NJ winter. Lucky felines.

Hope you got that fireplace designed.

    1. Jean, I googled the address before I went. I knew it was going to be a stair hike. The elevator helped but the knees still protested. I drew all three mantels yesterday. I'll submit to design group today.

    1. Maria, Even when the fog rolls in, it's compelling. I'd be there with my binoculars watching the big container ships come and go, imagining their journeys.

    1. Hostage, I agree but he's a bully. My poor cat is afraid to go outside.

  5. Gorgeous all round...I've never heard of a flame point Siamese but he is handsome. Sorry about your knees.

    1. e, I'm aware of seal, blue and flame points. I have a suspicion there must be a chocolate point, but I may have just made that up. I know I could research it but am too lazy.

  6. You have the most interesting profession, ER. I seem to remember that you're self-taught, is that right?

Are you in any danger of becoming the local Cat Lady? IDeborah)

    1. Deborah, thoughts with France this evening. Lunch in a French restaurant when they told us what was happening. The new Chef is from Paris. Her Father was at the Bataclan concert and escaped. She was on the phone with him. He was waiting for news of his friends.
