I took a moment to water my poor garden this morning. My soup plate dahlia occasionally deviates from its perfectly geometrically constructed flowers, reminiscent of Spirograph drawings, and throws out a wonderfully chaotic and blousy bloom. The petals will not stay attached for very long but while I have this wild child of the garden on my dining table, I smile every time I look at her.
There's a lot of other, less charming, chaos in our lives right now. The business move is in full prep. mode, although we do not yet know where we are going by month's end. Denial is a wonderful tool, even though I can't maintain it all through the night. Who needs sleep, anyway?

Beautiful flowers... I'm reminded of the lilies of the field; not worrying but trusting. Hopefully this will work for your move!
ReplyDeleteVery nice title, under the circumstances.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous flowers.
And I wish you a smooth move that will be a portent of things to turn out even better than expected!
I have been thinking of you and your business move. I hope you find a place soon, but I know the right place will be shown to you somehow even if at the last hour. I wish I could be there to help you with the move. I know how much work it is to move. The flowers are so absolutely beautiful. In the midst of denial and stress and little sleep the fruits of your garden are hugging you.
ReplyDeleteSteve, not sure I can fake the innocence of the lilies of the field. I'm actually more of a "Trust in Allah, but tie up your camel anyway" kind of human.
ReplyDeleteMs. Pliers, we're getting there!
TechnoBabe, Wow! Great point of view. Thanks.
What gorgeous flowers! I love the color.
ReplyDeleteHopefully things will fall into place with the business move sooner than later. Your "take it as it comes" approach certainly has merit. At least you can get a few winks of sleep now and then, as long as the camel is securely tied, that is...*G*
Jean, Best of both Worlds, that's all I ask:) I just delivered our letter of intent on a potential new location. It's out of my hands for a while so I will compartmentalize that and deal with the immediate issues...Shop for groceries.
ReplyDeleteI'll only worry if I see your sense of humour deserting you, ER.
ReplyDeleteThose flowers are stunning. No wonder they make you smile. :)
ReplyDeleteJinksy, one aspect of such flowers is that their glory is fleeting and must be appreciated in that moment so as not to be missed.
