Reunited for the first time since being adopted a year ago. Boomer and Darcy, my "Formula One" foster dogs. A combined birthday and reunion party was held at Boomer's house on the coast. There were leis.
There was some time for play
A nice walk in the hills and the humans had a champagne lunch, spending a lot of the 3 hour meal exchanging dog stories.
I was presented with a tiara, from the dogs, which I wore with my pointy party hat. I shall treasure it always and may wear it to work tomorrow. You can barely see it in the picture above, darn it, so look below for a close-up.
I think this qualifies as a "Happy Ending" story.

That is a happy ending story! How great is that? Yay for a tiara. They are very thoughtful dogs.
ReplyDeleteYou're most deserving of some happy endings, and some happy continuums also.
ReplyDeleteAwsome pictures! Both the humans and the dogs look very cool. The one with you between the two dogs is my favorite.
ReplyDeleteA happy ending story, most definitely! If anyone deserves a tiara (that you must wear to work Monday) it is strong. Your sharing about these two put them right into my heart and so my heart had a sort of reunion with them today. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHi Birdie, get yourself a tiara. Beats massage and diets. Practice the Queenly wave and demand curtsies.
ReplyDeleteSillikak, Thank you.
Duta, I rarely get camera'ed, but a tiara and doggie reunion trumps self consciousness. Champagne helps too.
Lydia, "Slave to Darcy" and the rest of us serfs had a great time. The dogs acted as though it was no big deal. They knew who they were all along.
The tiara is perfect. Should accent your natural beauty and not overpower, especially not block the view of a pointy party hat. Those are simply the rules of royalty.
ReplyDeleteYou deserve a dozen tieras for all your efforts on behalf of the feathered and furry.
ReplyDeletee
Wear that tiara with pride. You deserve it. Placing those two energetic dogs in perfect homes was a challenge and it looks as if it worked out even better than you'd hoped. They both look fabulous and, above all, happy.
ReplyDeleteWhat more could anyone want--well, a tiara--but happy dogs and owners is a treasure beyond price.
Yep, you DO deserve that tiara. Wow, those are pretty dogs.
ReplyDeleteIs that white carpeting, or almost white? You are a goddess. I could never keep carpeting that clean with our two dogs.
Magpie, I'm glad someone is up to date on the rules of royalty.
ReplyDeletee, they really are rewarding. I wouldn't want a life without them.
Jean, they are completely bonded and secure with their humans. I couldn't ask for more.
Kerry, That is white carpeting, although not my home. I also have a white carpet, in a rental house no less. The good thing is that you can use bleach to clean random stains, as there is no color to damage.
Fantastic. There is no better way to start the week than with a happy ending.
ReplyDeleteLove the tiara, love happy endings! Well done!
ReplyDeleteSteve, I know you're going to talk yourself into a dog one of these days.
ReplyDeleteDi, my first "Tiara" experience and I loved it.
I found my self smiling along as I read further into the script. Thank's for that.
ReplyDeleteA success story. What a nice idea to have a first year reunion. The dogs look great. I am so glad it has all worked out. The tiara was a nice touch.
ReplyDeleteJimmy, I was quite proud of my title (the title of the post, not the one that came with the tiara:) I enjoyed your jaunt to Newcastle. It sounded just as I have imagined it to be.
ReplyDeleteTechnoBabe, They were my babies for a while. It was good to celebrate their success out in the world.
What beautiful dogs! The world needs more people with your passion for animals. You earned that crown!
ReplyDeleteHeidi, They are a spectacularly eye-catching pair and very lively!
ReplyDeleteA very happy ending indeed, one could woof with pleasure... Bravo ER, tiaras by the score should come your way...
ReplyDeleteOwen, thanks. This rescue has enriched my life with great dogs and some new friends. It's really a two way street!
ReplyDeleteHow very good of you to tell us about the boys' happy landings. It makes me happy too; their new owners must be very fond of them if they're willing for the boys to have a reunion.
ReplyDeleteA tiara suits you, I thought you wore one all the time anyway?
Friko, A lot of thought and evaluation go into finding the right homes, although Boomer did bounce back twice. I must admit that this is my first tiara. Never to late to try something new.
ReplyDeleteI love tiaras. A few summers ago, I kept one on almost every day. As to the tri-color collies, we had one growing up. Marianne. Beautiful dogs.
ReplyDeleteMJ, tri's are flashy, especially the smaller of these two. Darcy is a white-factor tri. If she were bred (and not fixed) she could have white puppies.
ReplyDeleteWell all right then, everybody's said all there is to say about tiaras, except perhaps that it was clearly undersized. You must have left your halo at home - there's no other way that sparkly little thing could have fit.
ReplyDeleteDeborah, I will definitely hold out for a bigger tiara next time.
ReplyDeleteI remember these guys kept being brought back... this is just great.
ReplyDeleteConerning the song... just glad we could both do our part to be un-doers. Oddly enough I had the US and England on my mind when I first saw it.
@eloh, It was Big Bad Boomer who came back twice. Once when he "caught the cat" and once when the old guy tripped and fell on him during the night and had to have stitches to repair his face.
ReplyDeleteThe song you posted was epic and, you're right, it appealed to my Brit'ness as well as my U.S.'ness
Proper fairy tale ending :) Me likes :)
ReplyDeleteWiola, Next time I'll ask for a magic wand and some fairy dust so that I can achieve happy endings for all.
ReplyDeletethis post makes me sad in all the best ways!.. it's a joy to see :-)
