Sorry, Sorry, Sorry!

I almost asked our waiter to take a snapshot of us at lunch, but decided it would be too cruel to post. Patio dining, under the palm trees, bathed in sunlight. This is not a vacation, just a beautiful warm day to order lobster tacos, crab and mango salad and imbibe a margarita. Admittedly, at the side of a busy road and we did have to return to work afterwards, but a nice moment to take a breather.
I had to apologize yesterday, also, to the man whose car I slightly scraped. It was my fault. I didn't see him. It's a bummer for both of us and annoying to have tarnished my spotless record. I'm insured. His car will get fixed. No one was even slightly hurt, at all of three miles per hour. My "victim" had a hard time being gracious. He really wanted to whine more but I wasn't arguing back. He's obviously an accident virgin and a beginner at the school of hard knocks. May his life continue to be so protected.
I went to a construction site meeting this morning at a home in the hills. Many of my clients have main house and pool house, or guest house. More and more have compounds that include a building in which to entertain large parties. Only a few also build a guard house at the gate. Fingers crossed that this job will lead to future referrals to other sporty connections. Sorry that I can't tell you more.

  1. You should have posted that picture. If I have to live in the dark and rain it is nice to know that others can dine el fresco!

    1. DD, we really need some rain. I had to water my garden this morning, in the dark, before work

    1. Frances, so sorry:( Exactly why I didn't put in a picture and why I mitigated good with bad, a little.

  4. I occasionally turn on the TV to watch a golf tournament this time of year just to feel warmer. I think I could have handled a picture. *G*

Glad you managed to be gracious in the accident situation. I'm sure you disarmed the victim completely with your charm. So sorry. Hope both cars recover completely.

  5. Jean, I promise some sunny pictures very soon. We've clawed our way back through our recent problems and have re-booked a quick trip to really sunny climes.

  6. I had that happen to me before with a car scraping. I barely tapped this HUGE Hummer in my little volks bug. She got out and crossed her arms crossly while I insisted on taking photos of both of our cars with my phone. We admitted that no harm was done but a scratch and left. Two days later, I heard back from my insurance company. She wanted a WHOLE NEW side door. It was a scratch and I had the photo to prove it. And for the hell of it, I looked up her name on facebook and discovered that she described the car scraping as if it were a major accident and called me a "SNOOTY OLD BAT." I was ready to hunt bear after that.

  7. Maria, whatever panel of the car we scratch, no matter how minor, deserves to be replaced by insurance. It does affect the value of the vehicle. They don't have to be unpleasant about it though. Funnily, I just got a request from my "victim" to connect on Linkedin.
