Succulent Doves!

No, I'm not suggesting these Doves are for dinner. The dovecote is cunningly decorated with plantings of succulents. These are Rescue Doves. This is how Dove-People do Public Relations Outreach.

  1. 'Dove-people' sounds like a pretty nice group. Are you one?

  2. Oh, dear, your title did worry me for a moment there...you witty person, you.

That little dovecote is so pretty and the doves themselves add even more beauty. It's a lovely advertisement for the rescue.

  3. Deborah, I had no idea that Dove's were in need of rescue. I met a foster-dove named Peppermint who is in this temporary but luxurious lodging. The house behind the dovecote is where "Dynasty" was filmed. We were there for an opening reception and to experience Twilight in Filoli Gardens. (Everyone else who attended was at least 110 years old:)

  4. Jean, the doves are chubby little things, their plumage has the waxy feel of a magnolia flower when you pet them.

  7. HappyHour, it's cultural. If you were raised with Dove chocolate. I hadn't had that thought myself.

Steve, What, No Chorus?...Yeah, Yeah, Yeah.

  10. Watercats, I was chatting with the Dove Rescue Lady and the words "Roast Squab" did come to mind.

Joanna, I admire succulents but prefer plants that move in the wind.
